Sufficient Notice Deadlines

Within Ontario – 7 days

To an Exhibition Game – 14 Days

To the US or another Province – 14 days

International – 45 days, recommended to apply 90 days before travelling, approval needed 45 days before travelling to another country

Grassroots Teams (U8-U13) must apply to the appropriate aged Festivals

U14+ must apply to the appropriate aged Tournaments

Ontario Soccer is now an additional approver for applications where:

·       Age group is U12 or U13

·       The travel jurisdiction is:

o    Within Ontario

o    To Another Province

o    To the USA

Grassroots Considerations

Please become familiar with the Grassroots Standards.

Travel Time: To provide consistency with travel times, the EMSA Competitions Manager will generate the time/distance map for each festival. Travel distance/time must meet the standards set out in the matrices for the age of the players travelling. See travel time and memorable events for more information.

STRPs & TEPs: These trial permits cannot be used in Grassroots Festivals

Club Registrars & Travel Managers

Please be sure that teams are eligible to apply for the festival/tournament that they send to you for travel approvals. You are responsible to check that all the information is correct, the festival roster is attached, all other required documents are uploaded and that the festival/tournament is sanctioned (i.e., for Ontario festivals/tournaments, check the dashboard on CTMS) before approving it at the club level.
